Hotel del Coronado Plans $160 Million Renovation

The historic Victorian building of Hotel del Coronado in San Diego is set to undergo a $160 million restoration and revitalization project. This marks the final phase of Blackstone Real Estate’s overall investment plan, totaling over $550 million. The upgrades will encompass all guestrooms, suites, and event spaces such as the Crown Room with an expected completion date of spring 2025.

According to Rob Harper, head of real estate asset management Americas at Blackstone: “Since our investment plan began in 2018, we have diligently preserved The Del as a National Historic Landmark while solidifying its status as an iconic destination for generations to come.” He also expressed pride in the progress made so far and looks forward to working with local teams on this next phase.
