A group of prominent South Florida investors has received official approval from the City of Homestead for the development of the Sports Performance Hub, a $275 million sports and recreation complex slated for construction on 130 acres at Homestead Regional Park. Notably, the project will be built at no cost to taxpayers.
The complex will feature a 10,000-seat stadium, a hotel with 100 to 150 rooms, and a sports academy equipped with classrooms, dormitories, and a gymnasium.
The ownership group behind the ambitious venture includes professional soccer star Dario Sala, former NBA player Manu Ginobili, and Riccardo Silva, owner of Miami FC.
The stadium is set to host professional sporting events, including home matches for Miami FC and the new home of the Homestead Championship Rodeo.
Development is scheduled to commence in 2026. That same year, the city is projected to start receiving lease payments from the project, including a base annual lease of $265,000, $3 per event ticket sold, and $5 per hotel night.
In addition to the primary structures, the ownership group will also finance comprehensive upgrades to the area’s recreational facilities. These enhancements include renovations of 12 tennis courts, the addition of 18 pickleball courts, improvements to various athletic fields, new basketball and volleyball courts, an upgraded playground, and modernized baseball fields.
