A developer is looking to take advantage of a new state law which will allow them to build taller buildings in exchange for including affordable housing. The Condra Group plans to demolish a block and a half of Hollywood low-rise hotels located along the city’s famed boardwalk along the beach, currently comprising 123 hotel rooms. This would make way for an 18-story mixed-use project totaling 628,191 square feet with an eight-story parking garage with some retail on the ground floor across McKinley Street, and two stories dedicated to restaurants and rooftop pool on Surf Road. With this development opportunity comes great potential for those seeking affordable housing options in Hollywood’s iconic beachfront area.
