Electronic Arts (EA), a video game developer, is expanding its presence in the Seattle area with the opening of a second studio. The new studio, called Cliffhanger Games, will support development on an upcoming Marvel game and other projects. EA has become renowned for blockbuster games such as The Sims, FIFA, Madden NFL and Battlefield.
Though no specific location has been announced yet for Cliffhanger Games’ headquarters , this move demonstrates EA’s commitment to continuing to expand their operations despite decreased demand for office space in the region .
Cliffhanger will be classified as AAA – high-budget and top-of-the-line – with most of its founding members hailing from Seattle according to EA based out of Redwood City California . In August 2022 they leased 53000 square feet in Kirkland Washington where they listed 230 job openings at that time according to Puget Sound Business Journal article.
This expansion further cements Electronic Arts’ position within the gaming industry while providing more opportunities within Seattle’s tech sector .
