Lake Texoma may soon be the site of a 3,000 acre master-planned community. Straddling the border of Texas and Oklahoma, this project is slated to include a resort hotel, retail stores, restaurants with lake views and an upscale marina as well as 7500 homes and rental units. According to Dallas Business Journal (DBJ), developer David Craig estimates that Preston Harbor will have a $4-$5 billion ad valorem value at buildout. Craig has also developed another large master-planned community in McKinney; he told DBJ that “there’s nothing like this in North Texas – it’s mega-mega!”
The development will feature nine miles of frontage on Lake Texoma with 400-600 boat slips situated prominently within the project alongside restaurants overlooking the lake plus other retail opportunities such as townhomes or multifamily dwellings. Located roughly 75 miles north from Dallas city limits, Preston Harbor promises to be an exciting new addition for North Texas residents!
