Construction will begin next month on The District, a 66-acre development located near I-35 and State Highway 45 Toll Road in Round Rock. This highly anticipated project is expected to span almost 4 million square feet, with plans for 2 million square feet of office space, 150,000 square feet of retail space, multiple apartment phases totaling approximately 1.4 million square feet and a hotel spanning over300,000 square feet. With an investment exceeding $500 million dollars and full buildout projected for the year2039,the development is estimated to bring about5 ,000 jobs.
According to the Austin Business Journal’s report on this long-awaited project,it has been six years since its original plans were approved.Mark IV Capital will be leading the helm as developers.
The groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for March marks the beginning of a12-month infrastructure construction phase led by W.E.O’Neil Constructionforthe entire project.Afterwards,the first vertical elements are set to commence constructionwith completion expected by early2027.
