Harbor Group International (HGI) has revealed plans for a $128 million revitalization of the iconic 51W52 skyscraper, spanning 900,000 square feet. The project will involve revamping the lobby on 52nd Street and reimagining the lobby on 53rd Street. Additionally, an amenity suite featuring a lounge, fitness center, conference and event space, and private cafe will be introduced.
Originally designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen as CBS’ headquarters in New York City (NYC), HGI’s renovations aim to enhance the existing features while preserving its landmark status. The project is expected to be completed by December.
Since acquiring ownership in 2021, HGI has already leased or renewed over one-third of the available space at this property. This includes relocating their NYC headquarters to occupy a total of 25
