Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has committed $93 million in new capital investments to Springfield’s MassMutual Center, with the funding to be deployed over the next five years. The planned capital improvements are designed to modernize both the arena and convention center components of the MassMutual Center. The initiative emphasizes upgrades that will address life safety systems and accessibility, ensuring the venue better serves visitors with varying mobility and safety needs. In addition, the work is expected to update building systems and features that directly shape the experience of event attendees.
State officials indicated that the project will prioritize enhancements that improve the visitor experience and strengthen the center’s operational capabilities.
