**Hasbro to Relocate Corporate Headquarters to Boston Seaport**
Hasbro, Inc. has officially announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from its longtime base in Rhode Island to 400 Summer Street in Boston’s Seaport District. The move will see the global toymaker occupy 265,000 square feet across seven floors in a WS Development-owned office tower. This new office space will accommodate approximately 700 employees.
In addition to the newly announced Boston headquarters, Hasbro also maintains a significant presence on the West Coast, with its Digital and Gaming division headquartered in Renton, Washington, a suburb of Seattle.
“Boston’s thriving business community, deep academic partnerships, and cultural vibrancy, together with our Seattle team’s leadership in technology, creativity, and innovation, give Hasbro an unparalleled foundation for growth,” said Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks.
Despite the headquarters relocation, Hasbro emphasized its continued commitment to Rhode Island. The company plans to keep recruiting talent from the state’s colleges and universities and will maintain its support for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital through annual contributions.
The decision follows a year-long contest between Rhode Island and Boston over the location of Hasbro’s corporate headquarters.
