According to the Boston Business Journal, toy maker Hasbro Inc. is close to making a decision on relocating its headquarters from Pawtucket, RI to Boston. The company has been considering this move since last September and an unlikely candidate has emerged as a strong contender – a lab-and-office building in the Seaport District that is already leased by a life sciences company.
Sources have revealed that Hasbro is looking at 400 Summer St., which was opened by Foundation Medicine in the Seaport last year. This 580,000-square-foot building was leased by Foundation from WS Development in 2019 but they have subleased much of the space.
The Business Journal reports that two sources consider 400 Summer St. as the top choice for Hasbro at this point. The company requires approximately 250,000 square feet for their headquarters and a decision is expected within weeks.
