Hard Rock Plans for Long Beach's First New Hotel in 30 Years

Hard Rock International and Steinhauer Properties have announced their plans to develop the Hard Rock Hotel Long Beach, which will be the first new-build full-service hotel in Long Beach in three decades. This highly anticipated project also marks the first new Hard Rock Hotel property to be built in Southern California in almost ten years. Construction is scheduled to begin during summer 2024, with a projected opening date of spring 2027.

According to Jon Lucas, COO for Hard Rock International, “We are grateful for Mayor Rex Richardson, City Council members and our partners who have welcomed our unique brand of hospitality and entertainment into the City of Long Beach.”

The upcoming Hard Rock Hotel Long Beach will stand at an impressive height of 31 stories. The development plan includes a total of 427 rooms and suites as well as what is said to be the tallest open rooftop bar on Southern California’s coast. In addition to this project, there are currently two other locations operated by Hard Rock within this region – a hotel located in San Diego and a popular café situated in Hollywood.

This latest announcement has generated much excitement among locals as it brings forth not only economic growth but also adds diversity within Southern California’s hospitality industry.
