**Habitat for Humanity Seattle–King & Kittitas Counties Celebrates 40 Years of Impact**
In 2026, Habitat for Humanity Seattle–King & Kittitas Counties (Habitat SKKC) will mark 40 years of advancing affordable housing and completing critical home repairs across the region.
Over the past four decades, Habitat SKKC has significantly impacted local communities by constructing or renovating 458 homes and completing 650 home repairs. These efforts have directly benefited more than 2,600 individuals and families. The organization has also been instrumental in shaping housing policy, advocating for the passage of 87 landmark housing measures. These efforts have helped unlock $4.35 billion in public funding for affordable housing initiatives and mobilized more than 600,000 volunteer hours in support of its mission.
A testament to its lasting impact, 76% of initial Habitat SKKC homeowners continue to live in the homes they obtained through the program, with an average tenure of nearly 14 years.
Among its standout projects is a 58-unit condominium building in Seattle — currently the largest single-building multi-family project in Habitat for Humanity’s global history — scheduled for completion in 2026. In addition, the organization will celebrate the completion of 40 homes this spring in its Miller’s Creek community located in Burien. Looking ahead, Habitat SKKC has 257 additional homes in the construction pipeline.
As it celebrates this milestone anniversary, Habitat SKKC continues its mission to provide safe, stable, and affordable housing to those who need it most.
