"Gwinnett County and CBRE Partner to Revitalize Mall"

Gwinnett County and CBRE have joined forces to revitalize the deteriorating Gwinnett Place Mall. In April 2021, the county acquired most of the mall property for $23 million. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved a redevelopment plan in February 2023, partnering with CBRE for the project.

The majority of the mall will be demolished (excluding Macy’s, Beauty Master, and Mega Mart anchors) to make way for new retail spaces, a cultural center, green areas and residential developments. The former Sears anchor is privately owned by a luxury apartment developer who plans to demolish it and construct new housing.
