Gunderson Marine Operations in Portland Sold by Greenbrier

The Greenbrier Companies, Inc., based in Lake Oswego, OR has completed the sale of its Gunderson Marine operations to Oregon Green Manufacturing, LLC (OGM). OGM acquired a 58-acre industrial waterfront site in Portland which houses the Gunderson Marine business. This acquisition by OGM preserves approximately 300 family-wage jobs at Gunderson.

OGM plans to continue vessel fabrication operations on Front Avenue in Northwest Portland that were resumed by Greenbrier back in 1995. The location has a lengthy history of over 100 years as it started out as steel fabricator before transitioning into freight railcar and marine barge manufacturing from 1947-1985.

Greenbrier and OGM entered a non-competition agreement regarding freight railcar related products and services but did not disclose any other terms of the transaction publicly. Prior to this deal being finalized, Greenbrier had already announced ceasing all railcar manufacturing activity at this facility.
