Groundbreaking Ceremony for Workforce Support and Training Center on Chicago's West Side

Westside Health Authority (WHA) and Austin Coming Together (ACT) joined city officials and representatives from BMO and ITW to break ground on the new ASPIRE Center for Workforce Innovation in Chicago’s West Side. The center is designed to be a one-stop shop offering support services, career training, free manufacturing, welding, mechanical assembly courses as well as holistic services in career development and financial advice. Additionally, BMO will provide retail banking services at the facility.

The former CPS Emmett Elementary School at 5500 W Madison St., shuttered in 2014 was chosen for this project with Lamar Johnson Collaborative acting as building architect; Sargent Blinderman taking up general contractor duties; while Project Management Advisors provided project management expertise.

This groundbreaking marks an important milestone towards providing workforce support and training opportunities on Chicago’s West Side!
