“Grocery Store Foot Traffic Increases with Wellness Offerings”

"Grocery Store Foot Traffic Increases with Wellness Offerings"

In the past, grocery stores were primarily used for purchasing food and basic household items. However, with the rise of one-stop shops like Target and Walmart, traditional grocery chains are facing competition and looking for ways to stay competitive.

According to a recent white paper by Placer.ai, many national grocery chains are now offering more extensive healthcare services in order to attract customers. While pharmacies and basic healthcare services have been offered at these stores for some time, there has been a shift towards providing more comprehensive options.

Not only does this benefit the community by providing important healthcare services in a convenient location, but it also helps increase foot traffic at these stores. Additionally, it allows shoppers to take care of their health needs while also completing their regular shopping trips.

The white paper highlighted that grocery-anchored clinics have seen an increase in foot traffic compared to chain-wide averages. For example, Dillons (a regional Kroger chain) experienced 93% more visits per location at eight of its stores with on-site clinics than its overall average.
