**Grocery Outlet to Open New Store in Former Rite Aid Location in Graham, WA**
Discount grocery retailer Grocery Outlet is set to open a new store in a 17,400-square-foot space formerly occupied by a Rite Aid at 22201 Meridian E. in Graham, Washington.
The 1.7-acre property changed ownership in May when Dickerhoof Properties, based in Corvallis, Oregon, purchased the site for $3.5 million. The sale was previously reported by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Pierce County approved building permits for the renovation last month. Dickerhoof Properties will oversee the build-out of the store, with architectural services provided by GreenbergFarrow. The previous owner, Realty Income Corp. of San Diego, acquired the property in 2013 for $5.35 million.
This project marks the second time Grocery Outlet has repurposed a former Rite Aid location in the Puget Sound area. Another store is planned for Belfair, where a Rite Aid closed in 2024.
As of June, Grocery Outlet, headquartered in Emeryville, California, operated 552 stores across 16 states, including 76 locations in Washington.
