"Grapevine Welcomes New High-Tech Sam's Club Location"

After being damaged by a tornado two years ago, the Sam’s Club in Grapevine has finally reopened with new and improved features. The 150,000-square-foot store is now the first in the country to operate without traditional registers or cashiers. Instead, customers can utilize their app’s scan-and-go feature for a seamless shopping experience.

Located at 1701 W. State Highway 114, this store is situated near another innovative format in Dallas: Sam’s Club Now. This checkout-free technology store and “tech hub” is about one-fourth of the size of a traditional club and has been open since 2018 as a testing ground for new technologies such as using Scan & Go to purchase alcohol.

The implementation of this new system has proven beneficial for Sam’s Club financially. Digitally engaged members who regularly use Scan & Go spend three times more than non-engaged members and are also more loyal customers, resulting in higher renewal rates overall. Currently, approximately 30% of all Sam’s Club customers use Scan & Go during their visits while half are digitally engaged with the company.
