Governor Newsom Announces Plan for 100% Clean Energy by 2045

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently unveiled a roadmap to reach the state’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2045. Titled “Building the Electricity Grid of the Future: California’s Clean Energy Transition Plan,” this plan follows an executive order and legislative package announced earlier in March to expedite permitting for clean energy projects.

At Moxion Power headquarters in Richmond, Newsom expressed his vision that includes hundreds of new solar, wind, battery storage and other clean energy projects with a target build-out capacity of 148,000 megawatts. “California has shown we have a vision – one that is achievable,” said Newsom. “We have hit our early targets ahead of schedule but are still racing against climate change; we must build more quickly to ensure California has access to reliable and affordable electricity for its future.”
