"Google Offers 1.4M SF of Sublease Space in Silicon Valley"

Google LLC, which paused plans for a huge campus in downtown San Jose earlier this year, is now seeking to sublease 1.4 million square feet of office space across seven buildings in Mountain View and Sunnyvale. Cushman & Wakefield, Newmark and CBRE are marketing the properties on behalf of Google.

A representative from Google told the San Francisco Business Times that they are “working to ensure [their] real estate investments match the needs of [their] hybrid workforce” by ending leases for unoccupied spaces while still remaining committed to their Bay Area presence and investing locally.

The 1.4 million square feet being put on sublease only represents a small portion of Google’s total Silicon Valley footprint which spans 27 million square feet throughout Silicon Valley as well as 2.5 million square feet along the Peninsula and 1.6 million square feet in San Francisco..
