Google has expanded its Northland land holdings with the recent purchase of nearly 500 acres for data center development. The search engine giant’s affiliate, AG Rose Solutions LLC, acquired the land northeast of Kansas City last month from Diode Ventures LLC. This brings Google’s total Northland land holdings to 808 acres.
According to a report by the Kansas City Business Journal, Diode Ventures is currently working on amending its plans for Rocky Branch Creek Technology Park. Originally planned as a 360-acre campus with up to 12 data center buildings spanning over 4.3 million square feet, this site will now be part of Google’s expanding network of data centers that support core company products such as their search engine, Gmail and cloud-based services.
The acquisition price was not disclosed in the report by KC Business Journal.
This latest development marks another significant investment by Google in expanding their presence in Northland and further solidifies their commitment towards providing efficient and reliable services through their state-of-the-art data centers.
