According to a report from the San Francisco Business Times, Google is in discussions to increase its presence at Morgan Stanley’s Hills Plaza on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. This move would allow Google to regain some of the office space that it will lose when its lease at nearby One Market Plaza ends this spring. The potential expansion would cover around 550,000 square feet and could be one of the largest leasing deals in recent years for San Francisco.
Google has been located at Hills Plaza since fall 2007 and currently leases approximately 416,000 square feet there. However, their lease is set to expire soon.
While no agreement has been finalized yet, talks are underway for an expansion into about 650,000 square feet of space at Hills Plaza’s two buildings: located on Spear Street and Harrison Street. This news comes after Google confirmed last year that they will not be renewing their lease for roughly 320,000 square feet at One Market Place when it expires this April.
