GTI Fabrication, known for its successful shipping container business, has recently experienced a surge in demand for energy storage solutions. As a result, the company has signed a six-year lease for a 530,307-square-foot building at Lakin Park in Goodyear. The facility will be used to manufacture and assemble battery casings.
Lakin Park is being developed by Clarius Partners and Walton Street Capital and will eventually span 4.5 million square feet. This new location marks GTI’s expansion into Phoenix after establishing an 80,000-square-foot space last year to focus on battery energy storage systems through their division GTI Energy.
The move to Phoenix aligns with the city’s growing clean energy sector which has attracted major players such as LG Energy Solution and KORE Power as well as electric vehicle manufacturers. With an increasing number of energy storage projects taking place in the region, GTI’s services are expected to support this growth even further.
