GM Investing $632M in Fort Wayne Assembly Plant Expansion

General Motors Co. is investing $632 million in its Fort Wayne Assembly facility to prepare the plant for the production of next-generation internal combustion engine (ICE) full-size light-duty trucks. This investment will enable GM to strengthen its industry-leading full size truck business at the 4.6 million square feet facility located in Roanoke, Indiana.

This latest investment brings GM’s U.S.-based manufacturing and parts distribution facility commitments up to more than $31 billion since 2013, demonstrating their commitment to loyal truck customers and hardworking Fort Wayne team members alike according EVP Gerald Johnson of Global Manufacturing and Sustainability .

The company’s U.S.-based operations include over 50 assembly, stamping, propulsion and component plants as well as parts distribution centers nationwide – a testament not only to their dedication towards providing a strong portfolio of ICE vehicles for years ahead but also bolstering American manufacturing jobs across the country
