GI Partners Closes $150M Deal for Ashburn Data Center

GI Partners, a San Francisco-based investment firm, has acquired a 139,000-square-foot data center in Ashburn for $150 million from Nova DC Fee Owner LP. The single-story facility is located at 43915 Devin Shafron Drive in Ashburn, Virginia and was built in 2010. According to Washington Business Journal (WBJ), the seller shares its principal office address with Starwood Capital Group – a private global investment firm whose CFO and managing director serve as the general partner.

Over the last decade GI Partners has invested nearly $1 billion into data center sites across Northern Virginia. In August 2022 they purchased an 860,000 square foot portfolio of office buildings from Turnbridge Equities for $220 million; all of which are leased by major defense contractors.
