**Geico Opens Chicago Office at The Merchandise Mart**
Geico, the national car insurance company, has leased nearly 19,000 square feet of office space at The Merchandise Mart, also known as THE MART. This historic 3.7 million-square-foot building, owned by Vornado Realty Trust, spans two city blocks and rises 25 stories along the Chicago River.
The new Geico office will accommodate more than 100 corporate employees across departments such as communications, finance, and marketing, according to the Chicago Business Journal. With this move, Geico joins a roster of prominent tenants at THE MART, including Motorola Mobility, PayPal, Matter, Conagra Brands, Allstate, Avant, and Grainger.
Leasing momentum has been on the rise at THE MART. In 2024, Medline Industries tripled its office footprint on the 12th floor, while food delivery service Grubhub relocated its headquarters to the building. These moves follow extensive renovations by Vornado that have enhanced key areas of the property, such as the South Lobby and the River Park.
