Garfield Public/Private has formally started construction on a new lifestyle-branded hotel and convention center in Roanoke, reflecting the town’s push to expand tourism and event capacity. The town of Roanoke is serving as the sponsor for the development, signaling a coordinated public and private effort to deliver new hospitality infrastructure tailored to local demand.
The project is rising at 600 S. Oak St. in Roanoke, Texas, where plans call for a 169,152-square-foot complex combining a full-service hotel, extensive meeting facilities, food and beverage offerings, and structured parking. The program is anchored by a 205-key hotel that will be positioned within a lifestyle segment, supported by guest-oriented amenities and spaces intended to accommodate both overnight visitors and event attendees.
Meeting and event functions are a central element of the plan. The development will provide approximately 20,000 square feet of meeting space, designed to host a range of gatherings from corporate events to community functions. The convention center component is expected to include a ballroom, meeting room, and boardroom, giving users access to multiple formats and sizes of event space under one roof.
The hotel will operate under The Cade Roanoke flag and will be part of Hilton’s Curio Collection by Hilton brand. Within the hotel, guests will have access to a fitness center as well as an internal courtyard configured with a pool and pool bar. Food and beverage offerings are planned to include a signature restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge with an outdoor patio, and a full-service coffee bar providing grab-and-go options alongside traditional coffee service.
Parking for the project will be accommodated in a dedicated garage with approximately 300 spaces, intended to support both overnight guests and visitors using the convention and meeting areas. Design responsibilities for the project are being led by architecture firm BOKA Powell, while Brasfield & Gorrie has been engaged as the design-build general contractor overseeing construction of the facilities.
Construction is expected to take approximately 23 months to complete, establishing a multi-year build period from groundbreaking through delivery. Once finished, the project is intended to address Roanoke’s growing demand for hotel rooms and modern event space within the local market.
