Funding Texas A&M Food Science Building: Learn About Buc-ee's Founder

Texas A & M University is set to begin work on the Aplin Center, an academic center funded by a $50 million donation from Buc-ee’s owner Arch “Beaver” Aplin III. Houston-based Hines has been selected as the development manager for this T3 project, which focuses on innovation, wellness and sustainability. The university plans to break ground in fall 2021.

The new facility will offer students immersive learning opportunities through degree programs such as viticulture, fermentation processes and coffee science; product development laboratories; food tasting areas; outdoor and indoor recreational space; retail outlets managed by students and faculty through educational programs. This unique experience will provide collaboration with industry professionals while offering experiential learning opportunities for all those involved.
