Fulton County Agency Approves Incentives for Microsoft Data Center

The Fulton County Development Authority has approved a $75 million tax savings plan over 10 years for the development of a Microsoft data center in Union City. The project, located on vacant land at 4810 Stonewall Tell Road and valued at $1.8 billion, will be constructed by EdgeConnex, an experienced data center developer. Completion of all three phases of the campus is required by 2032 and each building will span approximately 612,000 square feet. This development in Union City, southwest of Atlanta, is expected to create between 400-600 construction jobs.

These tax incentives aim to assist with offsetting the estimated $43.5 million site development costs for EdgeConnex. In April 2024, Microsoft purchased a total of136 acres in Fulton County for this project at a cost of $53.5 million.

Once operationalized, the data center will employ no less than50 permanent tradespeople and technology professionals.Additional details can be found on Connect CRE’s website.
