**Frisco Approves Site Plan for Dream Hotel at Firefly Park**
The City of Frisco’s Planning & Zoning Commission has approved the site plan for the forthcoming Dream Hotel, a 190-room luxury accommodation that will also include more than 124,000 square feet of office space. Located on a 3.7-acre site at the southeast corner of Brixley Boulevard and Breezeway Boulevard, the project will feature a range of upscale amenities including a gym, sauna, bar, and lounge. With the site plan now approved, construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of the year.
The Dream Hotel is a key component of Firefly Park, a 217-acre mixed-use development led by Wilks Development LLC. Infrastructure work on Firefly Park is anticipated to wrap up by the end of April. Wilks purchased the property in 2015, and the development—originally known as Frisco North and Oxbow at Frisco—will be built in three phases over the next decade. Upon completion, it is projected to represent a total investment of between $2.5 billion and $4 billion.
This development reflects the ongoing growth and transformation of Frisco, which has added more than 200,000 residents since 2000. Firefly Park is poised to attract even more residents and businesses to the city, which is part of the broader economic momentum felt across Collin County. The county added nearly 46,700 new residents from July 2023 to July 2024, the highest increase in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and the fourth-highest in the nation, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates. Collin County’s population topped 1.2 million in the past year.
With strategic corporate investment and proximity to major highways fueling the region’s growth, developments like Firefly Park and the Dream Hotel signal a vibrant future for Frisco and the surrounding areas.
