One of Portland’s most iconic landmarks, the U.S. Bancorp Tower—commonly known as “Big Pink”—has been purchased by Oregon entrepreneur Jeff Swickard in an all-cash transaction for $45 million.

Swickard, the founder of Swickard Automotive and owner of more than 50 car dealerships across six states, is expanding his business interests with this notable acquisition.

The 42-story skyscraper stands as Oregon’s largest office building, encompassing 1.2 million square feet. Previously owned by Swiss investment firm UBS since 2015, the tower will continue to be managed by Seattle-based Unico Properties.

Built in 1981, the building underwent significant renovations in 2015. Swickard has announced plans to further modernize both the tower and its adjacent plaza as part of his broader investment strategy aimed at revitalizing urban assets in Portland.

This purchase marks a significant step in Swickard’s ongoing commitment to local real estate and business development.
