Rosalind Brewer, the former CEO of Walgreens, has recently been appointed to the board of directors at United Airlines. This move comes after her departure from Walgreens in 2023. According to United’s CEO Scott Kirby, Brewer’s strategic skills and visionary leadership make her a valuable addition to their already strong board.
Brewer began her career at Kimberly-Clark Corporation before moving on to Walmart and eventually becoming the CEO of Sam’s Club. She also served on Starbucks’ board from 2017 until 2021. During her time as CEO of Walgreens, she was the only African American woman leading a Fortune 500 company.
“I am excited about working with both the board and leadership team as we continue providing exceptional travel experiences for our customers while shaping our promising future,” said Brewer regarding her new role.
