"Former Kmart in the Hamptons to be Replaced by Target"

Target has secured a lease for a new space in the popular Bridgehampton Commons shopping center, located in the Hamptons community of Bridgehampton, NY. This 89,935-square-foot store will be Target’s first location in Bridgehampton and is set to open its doors to customers in 2026. The retail giant already operates 20 stores on Long Island.

The new store will be situated at 2044 Montauk Hwy., filling the former location of what was reportedly the last full-sized Kmart store remaining in the continental U.S. Jeff Howard, vice chairman of RIPCO Real Estate, represented Target during negotiations for this deal.

Bridgehampton Commons is owned by Kimco Realty Corp., and spans over an area of 287,493 square feet. Along with Target as its newest addition, it also houses other well-known retailers such as King Kullen grocery store chain , Gap clothing brand , TJMaxx discount departmental store chain , Staples office supply company and Ulta Beauty cosmetics retailer .
