### Former Duke Energy HQ Transforming into Apartments

**MRP Realty**, **Asana Partners**, and the **Rockefeller Group** have announced their first joint venture, finalizing funding for the redevelopment of Brooklyn & Church in Charlotte. The partnership has secured construction financing for the transformation of the former Duke Energy headquarters at 526 S. Church Street. Once completed, the project will feature 460 apartments and 57,000 square feet of retail space.

Marking Charlotte’s first office-to-mixed-use conversion, the 800,000-square-foot building will be repurposed from a 1970s office tower into loft-style apartments with ground-floor retail. Additionally, a new three-story, 30,000-square-foot retail building will be constructed at the corner of Church Street and Brooklyn Village Avenue.

Brooklyn & Church will rise 13 stories, offering modern industrial loft-style living with private balconies. The building’s core and shell will be preserved, while the façade will undergo a complete transformation with new glass windows and spacious outdoor spaces.
