The Domain Companies announced that Food Market will be the newest tenant at Estela, a two-building mixed-use development in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx. The addition of the tenant brings the development’s 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space to full occupancy.

Food Market has signed a lease for 2,156 square feet at street level, along with an additional 887 square feet in the cellar of Estela’s retail space, located at 414 and 445 Gerard Avenue.

“Achieving 100% retail leased is a major accomplishment that demonstrates Estela’s resonance as a high-quality product and the strength of Mott Haven as a growing mixed-use neighborhood,” said Matt Schwartz, co-CEO of The Domain Companies.

The lease was brokered by Diego Maya of Midtown Commercial Real Estate, representing the tenant. The landlord completed the deal without representation. Food Market joins other retailers in the development such as Mott Haven Marketplace and Mott Haven Spirit.

Estela features 544 mixed-income apartments and underscores the South Bronx’s evolution into a dynamic urban community with expanded residential and commercial offerings.
