Flatiron Building Owners File Plans for Residential Conversion

A partnership between The Brodsky Organization, The Sorgente Group, and GFP Real Estate has submitted plans to convert the renowned Flatiron Building into 60 residential condominiums. According to the New York Business Journal, this conversion of the 122-year-old landmark in Manhattan’s Flatiron District is projected to be completed by 2026 if construction can begin next year.

The developers intend to repurpose approximately 200,000 square feet of space within the Flatiron Building for residential purposes. Additionally, they plan on reserving around 5,000 square feet on its ground floor for commercial tenants.

News about this transformation of the former office building first emerged last year. In an interview with The New York Times , representatives from its new ownership group revealed their intention to create condos within the iconic structure. Subsequently reported by Connect CRE , it was announced that The Brodsky Organization would lead as managing partner in this joint venture and work alongside their partners in overseeing this historic building’s renovation.
