Flagstaff-Area Town to Open Native American-Themed Resort

A Northern Arizona tribe is paying homage to its unique culture and the region’s natural beauty by developing a 44-unit boutique hotel. The Taawaki Inn, located in Clarkdale, Arizona just above the Verde River at the entrance of Tuzigoot National Monument, will be a two story resort funded by Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation and built by Wespac Construction Inc., Flagstaff. Smith Architects has been appointed as designer for this project which is slated for completion in Q2 2024.

The 33,000 square foot Taawaki Inn will feature an educational component that reflects Hopi culture with traditional activities mixed with modern amenities such as fitness center, meeting rooms & conference rooms; gift shop & art gallery curated by interior designer Hank Ahrens featuring artwork created exclusively from local Hopi artists. This culturally significant development marks first of its kind in the area providing guests an immersive experience into Native American heritage while enjoying all modern comforts expected from a luxury hotel stay.
