### Fitness Clubs Lead Year-Over-Year Growth in Foot Traffic for Q4 2024

Fitness clubs saw the highest year-over-year (Y-O-Y) increase in store visits during the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a new report from Placer.ai. With only two exceptions, this retail category experienced consistent weekly visitation growth, resulting in an overall increase of just over 4%. Additionally, major fitness chains not only recorded higher Y-O-Y visits but also saw an uptick in average visits per location.

The **Q4 Retail Review** report from Placer.ai examines the performance of various retail sectors, including fitness clubs, discount and dollar stores, apparel chains, grocery stores, superstores, and home improvement and furnishing chains. Despite some categories experiencing mixed results, certain standout performers emerged during the quarter.

In addition to fitness club growth, the report also explores key retail trends, such as which apparel chains led holiday shopping, the most successful discount and dollar store brands, and how Q4 2024 foot traffic in superstores compared to the previous year.
