# Scottsdale’s $1 Billion Mixed-Use Project Moves Forward

Scottsdale developers behind a $1 billion mixed-use venture are refining their plans. George Kurtz, the founder of CrowdStrike, acquired the former Cracker Jax amusement park for $55 million in 2022, along with the nearby Promenade Shopping Center for $180 million.

According to the *Phoenix Business Plan*, the latest site plans for *The Parque* were submitted to the city’s Development Review Board for approval on March 10, with the next board meeting scheduled for March 20. The 30-acre site, located at 16001 N. Scottsdale Road, will feature approximately 1,236 residential units, a 223-room hotel, and a 150,000-square-foot office building, amounting to over 2 million square feet of planned development.

The project’s proposed first phase includes two residential multifamily buildings—an 89-unit apartment complex and a 70-unit condominium building—both situated above retail and restaurant space. Additionally, the development will feature four standalone restaurant spaces encompassing a total of 40,000 square feet, along with a 1.7-acre park at the heart of the site.

As final reviews progress, *The Parque* is poised to bring significant residential, commercial, and recreational opportunities to Scottsdale.
