Final Phase of Housing for Veterans in KC Breaks Ground

Leaders and community members in Kansas City, Missouri have officially broken ground on the last phase of a new housing development designed specifically for military veterans. The St. Michael’s Veterans Center offers affordable and permanent housing options for veterans who are experiencing homelessness or living with disabilities. This next phase will add 62 apartment homes to the center and is expected to be completed by late 2025.

St. Michael’s expressed their gratitude for all those involved in this project, including public and private partners as well as the SMVC community itself, during their website announcement of the groundbreaking ceremony.

The project team consisted of esteemed organizations such as U.S Bank, UMB Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA), Housing Authority of Kansas City (HAKC), Rosemann & Associates architectural firm,and Yarco Property Management.

This marks an important step towards providing much-needed support and resources to our deserving veteran population in KC.
