Final Phase of Housing for Veterans in Kansas City Breaks Ground

Leaders and community members in Kansas City, Missouri have officially broken ground on the final phase of a new housing development for military veterans. The St. Michael’s Veterans Center is dedicated to providing affordable and permanent housing for veterans who are experiencing homelessness or living with a disability. This next phase will consist of 62 apartment homes and is expected to be completed by late 2025.

St. Michael’s expressed their gratitude in bringing together both public and private partners, as well as the SMVC community, for this groundbreaking event marking the beginning of construction.

The project team responsible for this initiative includes U.S Bank, UMB Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA), Housing Authority of Kansas City (HAKC), Rosemann & Associates architectural firm,and Yarco Property Management.

This significant milestone marks an important step towards addressing veteran homelessness in KC through collaborative efforts from various organizations within the city.
