Gilbert City Council recently gave its blessing to The Ranch, a 300-acre development project located on the southwest corner of Elliot and Power roads. Developed by IndiCap, Colmena Group and investor Langley Properties, the project is mostly industrial in nature with 221 acres dedicated to that use. Additionally, plans include a restaurant as well as more than 50 acres of general commercial space and 35 acres for 750 multifamily units. Open space between residential neighborhoods across the street from industrial components totals 16.6 additional acres.
The process leading up to this approval took seven months for developers and neighborhood representatives to agree on details of the plan – an example that planning is indeed a process rather than an event which can be messy at times according to Gilbert Councilmember Scott Anderson’s statement “Politics is like making sausage – it’s best not see them being made.”
