Fillmore Linen Service (FLS) is a locally owned industrial-scale healthcare laundry linen service facility that will soon open its first location in North Lawndale. The goal of FLS is to expand and open another Chicago location in the future.
The anchor tenant of the Fillmore Center, a 168,000-square-foot building on the West Side at 4100 W. Fillmore St., FLS has signed a 10-year lease for 50,000 square feet. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held to celebrate this milestone with community leaders, dignitaries and partners who have contributed to North Lawndale’s economic development.
With plans to serve hospitals across Chicago and process up to 28 million pounds of laundry annually while creating over 175 jobs, FLS’s new location was made possible through partnerships with organizations such as the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council , North Lawndale Employment Network , West Side United , Skills for Chicagoland’s Future , Chicago CRED , UCAN and Steans Family Foundation . Already securing Rush University System for Health and Lurie Children’s Hospital as its first customers.
This announcement marks an exciting step forward for Fillmore Linen Service as it continues its mission towards growth within the city.
