A long-dated expansion by a financial tenant at Rockefeller Center reinforces income durability for the landlord and highlights sustained demand for prime office space in this campus.

Fifth Third Bank is expanding its presence at 50 Rockefeller Plaza, growing its office footprint within Rockefeller Center to 32,347 square feet. Tishman Speyer, which oversees the Rockefeller Center campus, announced that the bank has taken nearly 11,000 additional square feet in the building. The new space is structured as an expansion of the institution’s existing lease rather than a separate agreement.

The bank originally established a foothold at Rockefeller Center in October 2022, and the latest transaction extends its commitment over a long-term horizon. The expanded premises are coterminous with the current lease, which now runs through February 2034, providing extended income visibility at the property and signaling a durable occupancy profile for this office asset.

Leadership at Tishman Speyer positioned the expansion as a reflection of the broader appeal of the Rockefeller Center environment for corporate tenants. “Fifth Third Bank’s expansion is a strong endorsement of the workplace experience we continue to build across the Rockefeller Center campus,” said EB Kelly, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer and Head of Rockefeller Center. Kelly added that since arriving in 2022, the bank has become an important part of the property’s community and that ownership is “pleased to support their continued growth in New York.”

The leasing transaction involved multiple representatives on both sides. Fifth Third Bank was represented by a team consisting of Joe Cabrera, Kevin Torch and Michael Ciotta, who advised the tenant on the expansion and alignment of the new space with the existing lease structure. Tishman Speyer handled landlord representation internally, with in-house professional Blythe Kinsler leading negotiations for the ownership side.

This latest lease expansion underscores stable tenant demand at 50 Rockefeller Plaza and reinforces the role of Rockefeller Center as a long-term hub for financial and professional services firms. With Fifth Third Bank locking in additional space through 2034, the building gains additional occupancy certainty while the tenant consolidates and grows its operations in a single, established location within the larger office campus.
