The federal government has announced its support for Brightline West’s high-speed rail project, which will link Southern California to Las Vegas. With a $3 billion investment, the fully electric system will span 218 miles along the 15 Freeway from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga.
Proponents of the $12 billion project estimate that it will remove three million cars from the freeway and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 400,000 tons annually. The Cucamonga Station in Rancho Cucamonga is expected to welcome over 11 million passengers per year.
Rancho Cucamonga Mayor L. Dennis Michael expressed excitement about this transformative project and its potential impact on both regions. He stated that this strategic investment in cutting-edge infrastructure not only creates opportunities for jobs, economic growth, tourism and commercial ventures but also strengthens Southern California’s global connectivity.
