Piedmont Fayette Hospital Advances $275 Million Expansion Project
Piedmont Fayette Hospital is moving forward with a $275 million expansion—marking the largest capital investment for the Piedmont healthcare system since the construction of the Marcus Tower at Piedmont Atlanta, the system’s flagship hospital.
The expansion includes the development of a new patient tower, designed with additional space to accommodate future growth. Since opening in 1997 with just 54 beds, Piedmont Fayette has grown significantly. The hospital now features 310 beds, employs more than 2,300 healthcare professionals, performs over 13,000 surgeries annually, and handles approximately 130,000 outpatient visits each year.
In addition to the new tower, the project will renovate and expand various departments throughout the hospital. Planned upgrades include the addition of four operating rooms with the capability to add four more in the future, as well as expansions to the kitchen, lab, pharmacy, and other essential services.
The construction will add approximately 218,250 square feet of new space and renovate about 31,304 square feet of existing facilities.
Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with completion expected within three years.
