**ExxonMobil to Fund $75M Baytown Events Center**
The city of Baytown is set to develop the new ExxonMobil Baytown Events Center—a state-of-the-art multipurpose facility located at the intersection of Decker Drive and Market Street. The planned development will span approximately 150,000 to 200,000 gross square feet and include 5,000 square feet of meeting space, with a seating capacity ranging from 3,000 to 5,000.
Planning for the events center began in 2022, when ExxonMobil committed $75 million to the project as part of an economic development agreement. Upon completion, the venue is projected to attract around 205,000 visitors to Baytown annually. According to the Houston Business Journal, similar venues generate between $30 million and $70 million each year through tourism and related activity.
To bring the project to life, the City of Baytown is collaborating with a number of respected organizations, including the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation, Venue Solutions Group, ASM Global, Husch Blackwell, Elmore Communications, Patiño Strategies, and Masterson Advisors.
The new events center is expected to serve as a major hub for community gatherings, sporting events, concerts, and exhibitions, boosting local tourism and economic growth in the Baytown area.
