Exploring Stadium Options in Chicago's South Loop for the White Sox

The Chicago White Sox are reportedly considering a move to the South Loop area of Chicago, specifically on land known as “the 78.” According to the Chicago Sun-Times, discussions are underway for the team to relocate from their current home at Guaranteed Rate Field in Bridgeport. The potential new stadium would be built on a vacant riverfront site near Roosevelt Road and Clark Street owned by developer Related Midwest.

Alderman Pat Dowell, who represents the ward where the site is located, stated that she will meet with Related Midwest soon to discuss this possibility. In a joint statement provided to the Sun-Times by Mayor Brandon Johnson and White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf, they expressed their desire for an ongoing partnership between the team and city of Chicago while also discussing plans for remaining competitive in perpetuity.

In March 2024 at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, Illinois Connect Industrial Midwest 2024 will take place. For more information or registration details click here.
