Exploring Incentives for a 300-Unit Apartment Project

Trademark Property Co. has proposed the next phase of WestBend, which includes a seven-story mid-rise with 300 apartment units and 4,500 square feet of commercial space facing University Drive in west Fort Worth. However, before moving forward with this project, the company is seeking grant money from the city.

According to reports from The Dallas Business Journal, Trademark plans to develop at least 265,000 square feet and invest $81.6 million into the new site located on Clear Fork of Trinity River. In return for their investment and development efforts by July 31st ,2028,the city is considering providing Trademark with approximately $3 million in grants over a period of ten years (from 2029-2038). These grants will be dependent on certain requirements being met by Trademark such as creating a development worth at least $65.3 million in taxable value and making an effort to include retail/neighborhood market space that was previously occupied by a grocery store.

The decision regarding these incentives will be made during Fort Worth City Council’s meeting scheduled for August 27th . This potential partnership between Trademark Property Co.and Fort Worth could bring significant growth and revitalization to this area.
