Explore Latitude Margaritaville Community in Texas City

Texas City could soon be the chosen location for one of Texas’ first Latitude Margaritaville age-restricted master-planned communities inspired by singer Jimmy Buffett’s popular song. The Houston Business Journal reports that Texas City and Minto Communities USA have confirmed they are in discussions for the active-adult development.

Florida-based Minto develops Latitude under license from Margaritaville Holdings, with existing communities located in Daytona Beach, Florida; Panama City Beach, Florida; and Hardeeville, South Carolina near Hilton Head. These feature resort style pools, fitness centers, live entertainment options as well as signature food and beverage concepts plus arts and learning programs – all available to residents aged 55 or older.

Minto is looking for land between 1 to 1 500 acres to accommodate the development’s amenities which will include around 3 000 homes when complete. So grab your flip flops because you might soon be able to enjoy spongecake while sipping on a margarita in beautiful Texas!
